Anna Sui for Target Review

Like a blackout drunk, I woke up the day after spending $250 on target clothing going WTF did I do last night? All my Anna Sui for Target pieces came in the mail today. Seeing how i’ve never bought target clothing or bought any of their designer collaboration pieces before I wasn’t really sure what to expect in quality. And while I was pleasantly surprised I was also disappointed.

First up, Anna Sui for Target Juniors Bib Tee Shirt – Gray with Black Lace Fringe $24.99.

A little too cowboy-ish for my taste. While the material is soft and the lace detail at the top is cute I didn’t like how sheer the top was. I bought this shirt in a size X-Small and found it fit true to size.

Anna Sui for Target Sheer Dot Jacquard Dress $44.99

One of my favorite pieces from the collection, the material is great, the style is cool HOWEVER!!!! It’s sheer. I really wish it came with a slip because at this price, for a target dress? No thank you. I bought it in a size X-Small and found it fit true to size.

Anna Sui for Target Silk Printed Tunic Dress $49.99

Mmmm wayyy too bohemian chic for me. Not my style at all. I found the elasticated sleeves to be too tight on my arms and the robin hoodesque rope closure at the top way too costumey. A little too school girl for my taste, I bought it in a size X-Small and found the sleeves to fit a little too snug.

Anna Sui for Target Silk Jumper  $59.99

Considering the amount of good reviews this piece had I really did expect to like it. I love the material, the buttons and pockets but I really didn’t like how it looked on. I felt like I was wearing a potato sack. The cut out sides and style was too art chic for me. Wearing this dress made me feel like I was trying wayy too hard to look artsy. I bought it in a size X-Small and felt the bottom felt true to size but the top half too baggy.

Anna Sui for Target Houndstooth Jacquard Dress  $69.99

This was one of the more expensive pieces from her collection. Registering at $69.99, this dress does look a lot more expensive than it is and is made quite well. While I could see myself wearing this out at night the one thing I really didn’t like about this dress was how boob-less it made me. Serious flat chestedness. I bought it in a size 1 and felt that the top half was wayy too tight.

While I do think it’s great that designers like Anna Sui are making lines for Target, I did feel that this collection was a bit overpriced. I’m returning everything I bought. Don’t get me wrong, I would probably buy the “Anna Sui for Target Sheer Dot Jacquard Dress” again but! thats only if it goes on sale.
